The Pet Nanas Crew

Meet the gang. We have 3 rescues. Maddy is our redhead, Bella the blonde. My newest rescue, Dixie. Rescues make the perfect pets! Please consider finding your next fur baby through a rescue group.

My name is Glenda Green. I started this business in Feb. 2007, based on my own needs. I refused to board my “girls” away from their home. I was constantly asking friends, family and neighbors to come into my home and care for my pets. I decided if I felt that way about my pets there must be others in the same situation. I began to research the business. I found there are very few choices in our area. So thus came "Pet Nanas TLC". Pet Nanas is a member of PSI (Pet Sitters International). We are all Bonded, Insured and have Pet First Aid/ CPR certificates. My business consists of my twin sister, Linda, my husband, and myself.

After the initial contact, if you are interested in our service, I will set up a consultation visit (at no charge to you). If you are a potential first time client, I need a weeks notice. These appointments are worked in-between regular pet sittings. When possible, I set up the appointment within a week from you needing service. This will help your pet remember seeing me with the family and accepting me into your home. I will explain our service in detail and have you answer the questions on the contract and sign. We will go over your pets regular routine and discuss their personality and any issues I need to be aware.

I require your pets to be socialized. They don't have to be friendly, but they must be non-aggressive. I also require you to furnish proof of up to date vaccinations.

I reserve the right to refuse an assignment, if for any reason, I feel this visit might put one of my sitters or myself in an unsafe situation during a pet sitting. Aggressive behaviors of a pet or an unsafe environment are a few of the reasons I may refuse to offer you a contract.

I also offer a Safe Key Program. This allows me to keep a key for your home. If you have emergencies or a short notice is required, you can call ahead and we will not need to meet to pick up a key. Just update your information. It is also handy if you lock yourself out and need to call us to bring your key (cheaper than a locksmith). There will be a up to $10.00 charge to pick up or deliver a key if you choose not to use the program, or you can mail your key to me.

What you can expect in your 30 minute visit:

Plenty of playtime, fresh food and water, leashed walks, medication if needed, cleaning the litter box, cleaning up any accidents, & a daily diary of your pets care.
LOTS OF HUGS AND KISSES
We encourage you to call while you are away, to check on your loved one(s).
If you call during your pets visit we may even let you talk to them.

Your pet(s) care is my number one priority, everything else is as time allows. If you have 3 or more pets, depending on the circumstances, I may be limited to the amount of home care I can offer in a 30 min. visit ~ Check rates ~ you can purchase extra time

If requested ~ Home Care ~ No extra charge
~Water plants, change lighting, bring in mail, and bring in the newspaper
~Garbage disposal to/from the curb

Vet and Grooming visits

Overnight stays (based on availability)

Why spay and neuter your pets?

Humane Society of IredellThe most important reason is the over-population of pets. On a daily basis, many animals are born unwanted in the US, and without spaying or neutering, the majority of these animals are put to death. Only by spaying and neutering can we help prevent these senseless deaths.

Each day 70,000 puppies and kittens are born in the United States. With these birth rates, there are simply not enough homes for them all. As a result, millions of healthy, loving cats, kittens, dogs and puppies face early death as a form of animal control. Others are left to fend for themselves against automobiles, the elements, other animals, and even cruel humans.

Spaying and neutering will also help diminish your pets’ desire to roam, fight, spray territories and of course breed. Ask your veterinarian about spaying or neutering as soon as possible, and many of these negatives may be eliminated. The longer you wait, sometimes these habits are more difficult to break.

Pets that are not spayed or neutered also face a higher risk of cancer. Unneutered male dogs will face an increased potential for prostrate cancer, and unaltered females will face uterine cancer or pyometra (an accumulation of pus and bacteria in the uterus), which is potentially fatal if untreated by your veterinarian.

By spaying/neutering 2,500 dogs and cats in Iredell County in one year, we will prevent the unwanted births of 35,000 kittens and puppies in Iredell County alone, which will greatly reduce the euthanasia rate in Iredell County.
